Frequently asked questions

Why do my photos carry my location?

Phones store GPS coordinates in each photo EXIF if the camera has location permission. Sharing the original file shares where it was taken.

Will the photo look different?

No: the image is identical. Only the coordinates disappear from the metadata block.

PNG or WEBP?

Those formats rarely carry GPS. To clean them completely use Remove metadata.

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything is processed on your device; for metadata and privacy this matters most, which is why it is guaranteed by design.
