Frequently asked questions
Does the image lose quality?
No: pixels are not re-encoded. Only the metadata blocks of the container are removed.
What exactly is removed?
In JPG: EXIF, XMP, IPTC, profiles and comments (all APP1-APP15 and COM segments). In PNG: text, time and eXIf chunks. In WEBP: EXIF and XMP chunks.
What if I only want the location gone?
Use Remove location: it strips only the GPS and keeps the rest of the EXIF.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything is processed on your device; for metadata and privacy this matters most, which is why it is guaranteed by design.
