Frequently asked questions

Does it work in my browser?

Yes. Where the browser ships a native QR detector (Chrome on Android/Mac) we use it; everywhere else (Chrome on Windows, Firefox, Safari) a lightweight built-in decoder loads automatically. Either way, everything happens on your device.

Which file formats are accepted?

PDF, JPG, PNG and WEBP. For PDFs every page is rendered and scanned.

Does it detect several QR codes on the same page?

Yes: the native detector finds them all at once, and the built-in decoder scans for up to 4 per page or image.

Is it safe to open a QR link?

We show the content as text so you can review it before opening: be wary of shortened links from unknown sources.
