Frequently asked questions

Does it work with scanned PDFs?

No: scans are images and contain no selectable text. They need OCR, a feature coming soon.

Is the document's formatting kept?

Plain text with line breaks is extracted; layout (columns, tables, styles) can't be preserved in a .txt.

Does it extract text from all pages?

Yes, start to finish, separating each page with a blank line.

Can it copy text from a PDF that blocks selection?

If the PDF has real text (not scanned), yes: you can extract and copy it here even if a viewer makes it difficult.

Is there a size limit?

The platform's general limit; documents hundreds of pages long extract without issues.
