What survives from the PDF?
The full text, organized into sections. Page layout, images and complex tables don't survive: this conversion is built for READING.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
No: scans are images without extractable text. They'd need OCR first (coming soon).
Does it work on Kindle?
Yes: Amazon accepts EPUB through Send to Kindle since 2022.
Why doesn't it keep the original layout?
EPUB is reflowable text by nature — that's its advantage on small screens. For fixed layout, PDF is already the right format.
