Frequently asked questions
Will the Word file look identical to the PDF?
It keeps the content, structure and styles (headings, bold, italics, sizes, lists, tables, images, page size and margins). Complex layouts such as magazines or forms may need small adjustments afterwards. We would rather say that than promise a perfect copy.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Yes. Pages without a text layer are read with local text recognition in the language of this page (plus English). The engine downloads once and stays cached.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Reading the PDF, understanding its layout and writing the .docx all happen in your browser.
Are the fonts preserved?
The font family, size, bold and italics are kept by name. Fonts embedded in the PDF are not extracted, because they may have their own licence: Word substitutes a similar one if it is not installed.
