Browser screen recorders, OBS and many clip sites use WEBM (VP8/VP9).
Why is conversion slow?
The whole video is re-encoded to H.264 on a single thread inside the browser; time depends on clip length and your hardware.
Do I lose quality?
CRF 23 keeps visual quality very close to the original.
Is there a size limit?
The site-wide limit is 250 MB per file, and above 100 MB we warn it may be slow: everything is processed in your browser memory.
