Frequently asked questions

Can I search and replace text?

We do not offer it because reliably replacing text inside a PDF is not possible in the browser without breaking the layout: rather than a tool that damages documents, we prefer not to ship it. To cover or fix something specific, use the editor (type on top) or redact with rectangles.

Is it case or accent sensitive?

No: the search normalizes case and diacritics so you find what you need however it is written.

Why does it find nothing in my scanned PDF?

A scan without OCR contains no text, only an image. Once we ship OCR you will be able to extract the text first.

How many results does it show?

Up to 500 matches, each with its page, context and highlight.
