Frequently asked questions
Is it legal to remove a watermark?
Only if the image is yours, is in the public domain, or you have the owner’s permission. Removing marks from other people’s content may infringe copyright; this tool is meant to recover YOUR own images.
Does it work with large semi-transparent marks?
Small or opaque marks over uniform backgrounds come out very well. Semi-transparent marks covering the whole image are much harder: classic filling may leave traces.
Does it use generative AI?
No: it is classic reconstruction (Telea’s method) in your browser. It does not invent new detail; it fills with the surroundings.
Is the image uploaded to a server?
No: the whole process runs in your browser and the image never leaves your device.
