Frequently asked questions

Does it work with DRM-protected music?

No: DRM-protected files (FairPlay) cannot be converted, and we do not try to bypass that protection.

Do I lose quality?

AAC→MP3 re-encoding loses a bit of theoretical quality; at ~190 kbps it is practically inaudible.

Why does the first conversion take a moment to start?

On first use the ffmpeg engine (about 32 MB) is downloaded from this same site; it stays cached afterwards. The conversion itself depends on video length and your hardware.

Is there a size limit?

The site-wide limit is 250 MB per file, and above 100 MB we warn it may be slow: everything is processed in your browser memory.
